Reconciliation "Baptism does not free us from human weakness and the inclination to sin. That is why we need a place where we can be reconciled with God again and again. That place is confession." (YouCat #226)
Each and every time we go to Reconciliation, we receive the Sacramental graces of forgiveness and strength. In preparation for this Sacrament, we are reminded of the importance of forgiveness and putting God first in our lives.
1st Reconciliation Sacramental Preparation is completed within the Parish and entails three fundamental components:
- Weekly Sunday Mass Attendance
- Faith Formation
(Catholic School, Be My Disciples, OR Catechesis Good Shepherd)
- Sacramental Preparation Program
Preparation for the Sacrament of 1st Reconciliation can begin as early as 2nd Grade and is done before the Sacrament of Eucharist. Preparation for Reconciliation takes place in the fall and includes two programs in which the parent and child participate in together. Parents are also provided materials to further the preparation at home. For more information about Sacramental Preparation, contact Kayla Rooney, Director, at 651-423-4402 or via email.
